Medical fees!!! Medical costs!!!
I've been receiving alot of feedback that people wants to know the medical cost of different hospitals.
There is a site under Ministry of Health that provides information about the size of hospital bills according to conditions/procedures and ward class. It is a pretty comprehensive list for A-Z conditions.
The figures listed in the site are based on actual bill size data submitted by the hospitals. The bill sizes for public hospitals are complete and include all charges including doctors' professional fees.
The data for private hospitals, however, may not be complete as not all doctors' professional fees may be fully accounted.
To ensure that there are adequate cases for meaningful comparisons, bill sizes for conditions/ procedures with less than 30 cases for that particular ward class within each hospital will not be shown. Should you wish to find out more, please check with the hospitals directly.

For example:
Day Surgery (Subsidised)
Hospital Volume1 Average Length Of Stay (days)2 50th Percentile Bill Size ($)3 90th Percentile Bill Size ($)4
NUH 62 1.0 1,036 1,308
SGH 186 1.0 389 699
TTSH 78 1.0 1,313 2,079
It would be interesting to hear different experience within the hospital.
Then again, what is the factor that truely affects Singaporeans? Is it the medical cost or the medical standard or the hospital service standards that affect people.
So if the hospital service standards lapse, but the medical standard and medical cost is high, would that deter you from seeking treatment from the hospital?
If the hospital service standard is no 1 = equivalent to Ritz Carlton hotel standard, but the medical standard is not so good (maybe lack of specialists), would you still go seek treatment there?
